>do you dream?I haven't, not lately at least, BUT a few months back, after experiencing some heavy shit under psychodelics, I started to have recurring nightmares where my hands would rot and twist into ugly fokin shapes
It happened at least 20 times, and I would usually never be able to wake up; I would go directly onto the next dream, which I always ended up confusing with reality
The nightmares usually started with me doing something mundane, like, walking around my room, when suddenly, I would notice something weird, like being able to see with my eyes closed. Afterwards, yeah, my hands would do all of the things mentioned above
Its an awful experience, but im really glad that I haven't had to deal with anything of the sort for a good while now

>>45>I would go directly onto the next dreamthis is something that happens to me all the time
ive explained it to people before and i dont think everyone gets this. personally i probably have anywhere from like 2-6 dreams a night sometimes… i usually dont remember them, sometimes i can remember the transition period between two seperate dreams, that "moving" between dreams can often push me into lucidity.
>The nightmares usually started with me doing something mundane, like, walking around my room, when suddenly, I would notice something weird, like being able to see with my eyes closed.when i was a kid i read somewhere you can train yourself to realize you are in a dream. the method i used was every time i walked in my bedroom i would pick something up to check if there was a "big red button" under it - it sounds weird but it works. but you have to do it every single time you enter your room etc. and when you dont see the "big red button" you think "ok. im not dreaming"
i kept doing that and one day eventually i picked something up and bam. big red button. i was dreaming and instantly realized it - as soon as that happened i had full control of my dream. its an interesting experiment to try especially if you want to gain better control over your dreams IMO

lately i've been dreaming of a forest, and some nearby areas, interestingly my "dream world" seems to be pretty consistent, i often visit the same locations… it's kinda weird tbh i don't think i've ever had a consistent dream world like this

Most of my dreams consist of spaces with fewer people or animals. I remember one dream I would inhabit for maybe a summer took place in a ruinous but mostly intact industrial building.
It had an ambiance kind of like Sevastopol from Alien: Isolation, but on earth. There never seemed to be an exterior. One area i spent a lot of time in was a loading dock area. It consisted of a long, wide concrete hallway with Sevastopol lighting, and on one half the floor ramped down to a lower part at a shallow angle. There seemed to be some kind of doors on that side of the building which i sorta feel like faced south.
There was tatters and trash everywhere. There was an entrance on the east end of the hallway to some other building, but I don't know where the lower part led. The hallway continued to the west, and larger hallways or doorways in some cases lined the northern wall of the area, they seem built for transporting large containers, or smaller and obviously for pedestrian traffic or maybe like a power jack/pallet jack.
There *is* an exterior, but i never found a way to get to it from inside the first building. I can kinda remember a few things that happened there, but it was a really long time ago and this was probably a summer's worth of dreams.
I also have hypo and hypnapompic imagery, but i can still have regular dreams too

i just had a reall coool dream
had a really nice conversation reminiscing with a fictional character. the setting was my childhood home, except only parts of the the exterior and parts of the outside walls. then i encountered the son of my neighbor, except he looked kinda like a guy that played Tekkn 3 Tag Tournament at an arcade i went to for a short time like ages ago. also my neighbor never had a son. then we started talking and realized we got along famously, except he never existed, that neighbor had 2 daughters.
also, i was in my room loooking out towards the rear of the house and i saw a weird stubby donkey that i kept calling Burro get into a fight with a Boar, and i grabbed my binoculars to see what they were. that little donkey ran off and for some reason could jump really high. thre was also a third animal i couldnt recall. in this dream i also had a dog. also i drank some orang ejuice.
the cool part of that conversation was thinking that we were like, enemies but realizing we got along really well. then i told him about that guy i knew named The Dart. the dream also featured a conversational flashback like in a movie where 2 characters are talking about something and the the conversation elapses via a flashback scene.
at one point while i was looking at the burro and boar tussle through binoculars and the burro escaped by jumping onto a fence, and then right up off the fence onto a roof. i watched the boar run off into the thicket / woods. and i saw what i thought was a deer run out but it turne dout t be a horse with 2 like teen boys on the back of it, except it also had a platform. they were like on the platform with some stuff they were transporting back, then i opened the window and shouted at them "HEY! WHATS WITH THE HORSE???"

Thought I'd share something I've noticed from keeping a dream journal for the past couple of years. Certain symbols keep showing up for me in cycles, and they almost always mean the same thing.
Staircases are the big one. Whenever I'm at some turning point in waking life, like deciding whether to quit or start something, I dream about staircases. Spiral ones, broken ones, ones that lead down into dark water. Once I started writing them down with dates, I could practically track my anxiety about real decisions by what the staircases looked like. Intact ones usually meant I'd already made up my mind without admitting it to myself yet.
Doors are another. Locked doors show up whenever I'm avoiding a conversation I don't want to have. The funny thing is the dreams never tell me anything new, they just say what I already know in a louder voice. Journaling made that obvious. Before I wrote anything down, every dream felt random. After a few months of entries, the patterns were impossible to miss.
Anyone else have a personal symbol that keeps returning? I get the feeling these archetypes are partly universal but mostly custom-built out of whatever your life looks like.

i had a very weird dream last night where this magician had a duck turn into a bird, then the bird turn into a kitten. then i realized that he had somehow surgically put the kitten inaide the bird, and the bird inside the ducj, and that the duck and bird were both dead. then i saw the kitten was crying for the bird because it thought it was its mom. and for some reason i realized this kitten had also been modified somehow where its torso down was actually a dogs body. then it suddenly had grown bigger and it was like i had been taking care of it. it looked sorta like a lynx but with dark grey hair and was as big as a dog and its back was weird and caved in. i remember seeing it walk into a body of water and swim and thinking about how unnatural it was. it felt like some sort of strange symbolic thing going on. then i thought about how it would get along with my real cat and thats when i realized i was dreaming and woke up
